| Description: |
DPER processes building and land use permits for property in unincorporated King County (if your property is within city limits, you will need to contact your city for its own permit regulations). In unincorporated King County, fences up to 6 feet in height may be built on or within property lines without a permit. Fences over 6 feet in height require a permit and must meet the required setbacks for the zoning of the parcel (for zoning information, see section 21A.14.220 of the King County Zoning Code at www.kingcounty.gov/council/legislation/kc_code.aspx#21a).
