| Description:

The Policy, Strategy, and Performance Unit, within the Water and Land Resources Division's Stormwater Services Section (SWS), is charged with developing King County's first Stormwater Master Plan for guiding all programs, strategies, and systems aimed at improving and optimizing stormwater management within the County. The SWS Policy, Strategy, and Performance Unit will be the stormwater policy-making body for DNRP. This new unit will coordinate shared efforts across sections to ensure that programs, projects, and processes are well coordinated and optimized. This unit also serves as the County's representatives to a range of policy-making forums and will be responsible for building partnerships to advance the goal of improved regional stormwater management and water quality. The unit will work to increase value and reduce costs through collaborating with partner organizations on shared local and regional objectives and provide communications support and centralized management of information systems and data necessary for optimal, equitable, and transparent management of stormwater and surface water. The unit will work across all SWS units but with the Water Quality Compliance Unit in particular given its responsibilities to ensure compliance with state and federal clean water laws.
